FAQ

Q: If I call and request an estimate will I get a price the same day you look at my project?

A: We use a detailed estimating software program to create all our project bids. To ensure a fair and accurate cost for your project it can take up to a few days for us to put together your estimate depending on the size of the project and sourcing the materials from our suppliers.

Q: My circuit breaker keeps tripping; if I replace it will that fix my problem?

A: Circuit breakers do go bad at times, however, when a breaker trips it is performing the function it was designed to do which is to interrupt a fault or problem within the circuit and protect personnel and/or equipment that it serves. There is a good chance you have a bigger issue that needs to be addressed and solved.

Q: Thunderstorms keep knocking out the power to my home. Is there any way to keep my fridge and heat going when the power goes out?

A: Yes, absolutely. Having a back up generator with a transfer switch will ensure that you have the power you need to keep the essentials going until the utility company can restore grid power. We install generators and automatic transfer switches as well as energy storage systems for your home or business. Give us a call to see how we can set up the right system for your needs.

Q: Whenever I touch my clothes dryer or stove I get shocked. What is happening and how do I fix it?

A: The short answer is that you may have several issues. The main problem is most likely a loose or broken main grounded conductor and/or improper or no grounding system for your home. Old appliances with 3 wire cords are very prone to become energized and hazardous in this case. Please have a qualified electrical contractor address the issue as soon as possible!

Q: How do I know if my electrical panel and meter need to be replaced before a problem happens?

A: All electrical equipment has a life span. Electricity causes heat by design and heat slowly wears out electrical components. Most panels and meters tend to last between 20-25 years if maintained properly. Some last longer and some a lot less depending on the abuse they take. It is important to have a qualified electrician periodically inspect your system for heat damage, proper grounding and overcurrent protection. By nature electricity is a fire hazard and today there are excellent products and equipment on the market to protect our homes, businesses and lives that we didn’t have 20 years ago.
